Grants

Base Welfare Grant Scheme

This initiative provides grant funding to bases to support the welfare and amenity available to Aviators and their dependants. Such as to establish or improve welfare programs or sporting and social clubs, or to support community functions (including base Christmas Treats)

The Base Welfare Grant Scheme bid submission and assessment process includes the Hamilton Funding Initiative (because the RWTF Board Chair is also the Defence Hamilton delegate). The RWTF seeks base bids annually and the RWTF Board allocates approved bids to either funding bucket.

Hardship Applications

Modest grants to Aviators (now including SERCAT 3 – 5 Reservists) may be considered in exceptional circumstances of financial hardship, typically involving sudden and unexpected expenses arising from natural disasters, bereavement, family medical issues and/or associated travel costs. Grants are considered where expenses cannot be met from other sources in the required timeframe.

Support may also be available in some cases to former Aviators or their dependants.
